Design and reactivity of Ni-complexes using pentadentate neutral-polypyridyl ligands: Possible mimics of NiSOD

Three nickel(II) complexes supported by pentadentate nitrogen rich ligands were probed for superoxide dismutation capabilities. Complexes were characterized through various techniques including X-ray absorption spectroscopy and absorption spectroscopy. All three complexes demonstrated superoxide reduction capabilities.113
