PEGylated CuFe bimetallic nanoparticles are formed through a wet-chemical synthesis. Enhanced antimicrobial activity exhibited when copper and iron coexist in the crystal structure. Intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) were generated during the incubation of fungal cells with CuFe NPs while no extracellular ROS were measured.195
