Labile Pd-sulphur and Pt-sulphur bonds in organometallic palladium and platinum complexes [(COD)M(alkyl)(S-ligand)]n+-A speciation study

Highly covalent Pt-C bonds of the strongly σ-donating R coligands in organometallic complex fragments [(COD)M(R)] (COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene, M = Pd or Pt; R = methyl or benzyl) lead to rather low tendency to bind to various neutral or anionic sulphur ligands.
