Novel metalloantimalarials: Transmission blocking effects of water soluble Cu(I), Ag(I) and Au(I) phosphane complexes on the murine malaria parasite Plasmodium berghei

[Ag(thp)4]PF6 (thp = tris(hydroxymethyl)phosphane) showed prominent antimalarial, transmission blocking activity in vitro, inhibiting the development of early sporogonic stages of Plasmodium at doses in the low micromolar range.224
