Synthesis and catalytic activity of nickel(II) complexes containing NCN pincer ligands

A square-planar Ni(II) pincer complex based on a carbene-bis-pyrazole ligand was found to be an effective catalyst for the Kumada cross coupling of phenylmagnesium bromide with aryl halides at room temperature. Synthesis, structural characterisation and catalysis behavior of this Ni(II) complex and related complexes was studied.187
