Plant cellulose synthesis: CESA proteins crossing kingdoms

Recent structural and biochemical data has yielded important information about how cellulose is synthesized in bacteria and plants. While more accurate measurements of the plant cellulose microfibril structure have implication for how the catalytic CESA proteins assemble to form the cellulose synthase complex.
