Isolation and identification of an allelopathic phenylethylamine in rice

A potent allelopathic phenylethylamine, N-trans-cinnamoyltyramine (NTCT), was isolated, identified and characterized from a Vietnamese rice cultivar 'OM 5930'. Results demonstrated that it has strong allelopathic and herbicidal activities on barnyard gass.
