Microtropins A-I: 6′-O-(2″S,3″R)-2″-Ethyl-2″,3″-dihydroxybutyrates of aliphatic alcohol β-d-glucopyranosides from the branches of Microtropis japonica

► From branches of Microtropis japonica, nine aliphatic glucosides were isolated. ► (2S,3R)-2-Ethyl-2,3-dihydroxybutyrate was attached to the 6-position of the glucopyranose moiety. ► Four of the aliphatic glucosides contained a nitrile group in their aglycones. ► The absolute structure of microtropin A was determined by X-ray crystallography.
