Benzophenones and xanthones from Garcinia cantleyana var. cantleyana and their inhibitory activities on human low-density lipoprotein oxidation and platelet aggregation

► Benzophenones and xanthones were isolated from Garcinia cantleyana var. cantleyana. ► One xanthone, with a rare, 2-oxoprenyl group, was also isolated. ► Another xanthone showed the highest LDL antioxidant activity, comparable to probucol. ► One benzophenone exhibited the strongest inhibition on AA-induced platelet aggregation.
