Agropyrenol and agropyrenal, phytotoxins from Ascochyta agropyrina var. nana, a fungal pathogen of Elitrigia repens

► Three natural compounds were isolated from Ascochyta agropyrina var. nana culture. ► New benzaldehyde, naphthalene and 3H-benzofuranone were characterized. ► The two phytotoxins could be used to develop natural eco-friendly herbicides.
