Xanthones from the stem bark of Garcinia bracteata with growth inhibitory effects against HL-60 cells

► Constituents of stem bark of Garcinia bracteata were investigated. ► Thirty one xanthones were isolated from the EtOH extract, five hitherto unknown. ► A hypothetical biosynthetic pathway linking 1-4 was presumed. ► The growth inhibitory activities of the isolated compounds were measured in vitro. ► A preliminary structure-activity relationship was discussed.
