Caucasicosides E-M, furostanol glycosides from Helleborus caucasicus

► Nine furostanol glycosides were isolated from the leaves of Helleborus caucasicus. ► The leaves of H. caucasicus show the co-occurrence of furostanol glycosides, bufadienolides and ecdysteroids. ► The occurrence of steroidal compounds belonging to the 5β series was reported. ► Furostanol glycosides based on a 5β-polyhydroxylated steroidal aglycon never reported before.
