Steroidal saponins from the leaves of Beaucarnea recurvata

► Thirteen steroidal saponins were identified, among them, six are new compounds. ► The main constituents of Beaucarnea recurvata leaves are furostanol derivatives. ► The (25R)-furosta-5,20(22)-diene-23-one-1β,3β,26-triol aglycone is characterized. ► The chemical composition of the isolated saponins is in agreement with F. Ruscaceae.
