Antimicrobial activities of sesquiterpene lactones and inositol derivatives from Hymenoxys robusta

► Three natural sesquiterpene γ-lactone were isolated. ► Two inositol derivatives were isolated. ► Antibiotic activity of vermeerin against Staphylococcus aureus was determined. ► Vermeerin show no toxicity when exposed to human-derived macrophages.
