Bio-assay guided isolation and identification of α-glucosidase inhibitors from the leaves of Aquilaria sinensis

► We investigated the constituents of the leaves of Aquilaria sinensis. ► Activity-guided isolation led to a discovery of 8 compounds including 4 new ones. ► The eight compounds inhibited the activity of α-glucosidase in vitro. ► The constituents of the leaves differ significantly from the agarwood of A. sinensis.
