Gibberellin 3-oxidases in developing embryos of the southern wild cucumber, Marah macrocarpus

► Three functionally diverse GA 3-oxidases were cloned from Marah macrocarpus embryos. ► Both MmGA3ox2 and MmGA3ox1 are required for formation of GA7 from GA9. ► One GA 3-oxidase (MmGA3ox2) functions also as a 13-hydroxylase.
