17-Hydroxygeranyllinalool glycosides are major resistance traits of Nicotiana obtusifolia against attack from tobacco hornworm larvae

The performance of tobacco hornworm larvae dramatically improved on Nicotiana obtusifolia when the geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase gene was silenced which reduced the accumulation of 17-hydroxygeranyllinalool glycosides.
