Mycorrhization alleviates benzo[a]pyrene-induced oxidative stress in an in vitro chicory root model

The present study pointed out the role of arbuscular mycorrhization in protecting plants against the oxidative stress caused by the high molecular weight polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, benzo[a]pyrene exposure, notably through the decrease of lipid peroxidation measured by malondialdehyde formation.
