Unusual chromenes from Peperomia blanda

Two chromenes were isolated and identified from the methanol extract of the aerial parts of Peperomia blanda in addition to stigmasterol, sitosterol and campesterol. Their structures were established as 2S-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)-6-formyl-8-hydroxy-2,7-dimethyl-2H-chromene and 2S-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)-5-hydroxy-6-formyl-2,7-dimethyl-2H-chromene through spectroscopic methods.
