Laurentixanthones A and B, antimicrobial xanthones from Vismia laurentii

Two xanthones derivatives, laurentixanthones A (1) and B (2) were isolated from Vismia laurentii. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods. They showed significant and selective antimicrobial activities against a wide range of microorganisms.
