Sesquiterpene lactones of artemisia. ridentin

Ridentin, a new germacranolide, has been isolated from several speices of Artemisia of the Tridentatae complex. The structural relationship of ridentin to other lactones of the complex suggests its position as a precursor in the biosynthetic pathway to the guaianolides of the genus.
