New formylated phloroglucinol compounds from Eucalyptus globulus foliage

Two new acylphloroglucinols were isolated from the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus Labill and identified as macrocarpals P (1) and Q (2). Structural elucidations were carried out using conventional 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectrometry as well as complementary techniques (UV and IR).
