Abietane diterpenoids synthesized by suspension-cultured cells of Cephalotaxus fortunei

▶ Cell cultures of C. fortunei were manipulated to produce secondary metabolites. ▶ Seven abietane diterpenoids including six known and one new were produced. ▶ We report the isolation and identification of these seven abietane diterpenoids. ▶ Diterpenoids have been isolated and identified from C. fortunei for the first time. ▶ The strategy of elicitation integrated with in situ product removal was effective.
