Indazole-type alkaloids from the seeds of Nigella glandulifera

- Two rare indazole-type alkaloids, nigeglapine (1) and nigeglaquine (2) were isolated from the seeds of Nigella glandulifera.
- The structures were confirmed on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic data.
- This is the first report of the natural occurrence of glycosylated indazole-type alkaloids.
- Compounds 1 and 2 were highly applicable as chemical markers.
- Indazole-type alkaloids show significant role in the chemotaxonomy of Nigella.
