A new complex triterpenoid saponin from Calliandra pulcherrima with haemolytic activity and adjuvant effect

A new triterpenoid saponin was isolated from the leaves of Calliandra pulcherrima. Its structure was established by spectroscopic techniques and chemical conversions. The haemolytic potential was evaluated using in vitro assays and its immunological adjuvant activity was investigated using in vivo assays.
