Biphenyl and xanthone derivatives from the twigs of a Garcinia sp. (Clusiaceae)

- Doitungbiphenyls A and B were isolated from the acetone extract of Garcinia sp. twigs.
- Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including UV, IR, NMR and HREIMS.
- Doitungbiphenyl A showed weak cytotoxicity against MCF7 cell line with an IC50 value of 102.52 μM.
- Doitungbiphenyls A and B were non-toxic against the KB cell line at a concentration of 170 μM.
