Phenylphenalenones and related natural products from Wachendorfia thyrsiflora L.

► Various plant parts including seeds and root cultures of Wachendorfia thyrsiflora were investigated. ► Twenty-four phenylphenalenones and related compounds were identified. ► Five new natural products were isolated and their structure elucidated.
