In vitro growth inhibitory effects of 13,28-epoxyoleanane triterpene saponins in cancer cells

► Two new triterpenoid saponins were isolated from the roots of Cybianthus magnus. ► Their structures were deduced from chemical methods and spectroscopic analysis. ► Both compounds exhibited hemolytic and anti-leishmanial activities against axenic amastigotes. ► Both compounds exhibited in vitro growth inhibitory activity against cancer cell lines.
