Anticancer and α-chymotrypsin inhibiting diterpenes and triterpenes from Salvia leriifolia

► Salvialeriol (1), a new abietane-type diterpene, isolated from Salvia leriifolia. ► Compounds 1-5 were evaluated for inhibition of α-chymotrypsin, a protease enzyme. ► Compounds 2-3, and 5 showed potent antiproliferative activity. ► Compound 4 was isolated from the natural source for the first time.
