Steroids from the root extract of Pentalinon andrieuxii

► Two pregnane derivatives were isolated from the Yucatecan medicinal plant Pentalinon andrieuxii. ► The structures were established from the analyses of spectroscopic data and the results of chemical correlation reactions. ► Confirmation of both the structure and relative stereochemistry was possible from the X-ray diffraction study of one of the metabolites.
