Chemical constituents of Barleria prionitis and their enzyme inhibitory and free radical scavenging activities

From the aerial parts of Barleria prionitis, one new phenylethanoid glycoside, barlerinoside (1) was isolated along with six known natural products. Compound (1) had shown anti-GST activity with an IC50 value of 12.4 μM which was more or less comparable with the GST inhibitory activity of ethacrynic acid, a substrate GST inhibitor (IC50 = 16.5 μM).
