Insecticidal activity of Tanacetum chiliophyllum (Fisch. & Mey.) var. monocephalum grierson extracts and a new sesquiterpene lactone

► We report new 1-epi-chiliophyllin compound from T. chiliophyllum var. monocephalum. ► Extracts of the plant showed high contact toxicity against Sitophilus granarius. ► Extracts of the plant also showed high DPPH scavenging activity. ► Two flavones isolated from this plant showed low DPPH scavenging activity.
