A new benzophenone from Mesua congestiflora, an inhibitor against human B lymphocyte cancer cell line

► A new benzophenone-congestiflorone (1) was obtained from Mesua congestiflora. ► Structural elucidation was supported by 1D and 2D NMR, IR, UV and MS. ► The absolute configuration was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. ► Congestiflorone gave good cytotoxic activity against Raji lymphoma cell line.
