The elastic properties and piezochromism of polyimide films under high pressure

We report the first examination of acoustic properties of polyimide films at pressures up to 6.4 GPa. The isothermal compressibility and pressure dependence of mechanical moduli were studied and determined. An interesting piezochromic characteristics was observed and investigated in detail.351
