A practical isocyanide-based multicomponent synthesis of polysubstituted cyclopentenes

A number of polysubstituted cyclopentenes have been obtained by a multicomponent catalyst-free reaction using a combination of β-nitrostyrene, benzylidenemalononitriles and 2-morpholinoethyl isocyanide.
