Synthesis of deuterium-labelled, optically active, ferroelectric liquid crystals

Preparation of deuterium-labelled optically active, ferroelectric liquid crystals (1 and 2) with an almost quantitative deuterium incorporation was achieved by a new synthetic strategy.
