Unprecedented single-pot protocol for the synthesis of N1, C6-linked bicyclic 3,4-dihydropyrimidinones via lithiation of Biginelli compounds

N1, C6-Anionic sites generated upon lithiation of Biginelli 3,4-dihydropyrimidinones furnish N1, C6-linked bicyclic DHPM derivatives along with dimeric 3,4-dihydropyrimidinone after reaction with various dibromoalkanes.
