DMAP catalyzed reaction of β-ketoesters and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate: efficient synthesis of polysubstituted benzenes and biaryls

A DMAP catalyzed tandem addition–cyclization–dehydration sequence involving dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate and β-ketoesters leading to polysubstituted benzene/biaryl derivatives is presented.
