Reaction of secondary and tertiary aliphatic halides with aromatic aldehydes mediated by chromium(II): a selective cross-coupling of alkyl and ketyl radicals

Alkylchromium reactions: The reaction of secondary and tertiary aliphatic halides with aromatic aldehydes mediated by chromium(II) opens new perspectives for chemoselective C-C cross-couplings of complex substrates. The reaction can be improved by cobalt(I/III) catalysis.
