Synthesis, properties, and hepatic metabolism of strongly fluorescent fluorodipyrrinones

Fluorinated N,N′-carbonyl-bridged dipyrrinones, synthesized and found to be highly fluorescent (ϕF 0.4-0.6) are potential 19F MRI and fluorescence imaging agents for probing hepatic metabolism.
