PhI(OAc)2 and BF3-OEt2 mediated heterocyclization: metal-free synthesis of pyrimidine-annulated oxazolines

A simple high yielding and highly efficient synthesis of oxazoline ring fused with uracil moiety is reported. Hypervalent iodine (PIDA) in the presence of BF3-OEt2 generates an effective electrophile to activate uracil C5-C6 double bond leading to heterocyclization.
