Questions about the structures of nitraraine and nitraraidine

Investigations have been carried out in order to give new insights into the real structure of two alkaloids isolated from the Nitraria genus namely nitraraine and nitraraidine. Closely related tangutorine is put forward as a plausible alternative to the structure proposed so far for nitraraine.
