Asymmetric synthesis of (−)-codonopsinine

The asymmetric synthesis of (−)-codonopsinine was achieved via ring-closing iodoamination of a functionalised homoallylic amine, followed by functional group manipulation of the resultant 3-iodopyrrolidine.
