Synthesis and structural characterization of palladium(II) thiosemicarbazone complex: application to the Buchwald-Hartwig amination reaction

Square-planar Pd(II) thiosemicarbazone complex was synthesized and characterized. The new complex acts as an effective homogeneous catalyst for the Buchwald-Hartwig reaction of aryl- and heteroaryl bromides, dibromides or chlorides with various secondary amines. The effects of base, solvent, reaction temperature and catalyst loading on catalytic activity were also investigated.
