CuCl/TBHP catalyzed synthesis of amides from aldehydes and amines in water

A CuCl/TBHP catalyzed amidation of aldehydes with amines under aqueous media is described. Both aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes coupled with a variety of amines under the reaction conditions employed.
