1,3-Dibromo-5,5-diethylbarbituric acid as an efficient catalyst for the protection of various alcohols with HMDS under solvent-free conditions

1,3-Dibromo-5,5-diethylbarbituric acid was prepared and its application as catalyst was described in the protection of different alcohols by HMDS in good to high yields without solvent at room temperature.
