Design of a zinc(II) ion specific fluorescence sensor

We report the synthesis of {[3-(biscarboxymethylamino)-2-methoxy-5-methylphenyl]carboxymethylamino}acetic acid, which functions as a Zn2+ selective fluorescence probe (sensor).
