Photochemical generation and trapping of radicals from bisphenyl carbodiazone

UV irradiation at 350 nm of bisphenyl carbodiazone creates nitrogen, phenyl and (phenyldiazenyl)carbonyl radicals under mild conditions. The radicals formed were trapped by olefins and tetramethylpiperidinoxyl radicals.
