Synthesis, characterization, photophysical and electrochemical properties of new phosphorescent dopants for OLEDs

Heteroleptic Ir(III) complexes of 2-(p-phenyl)-pyridine (C∧N) were synthesized and characterized. Substitution at the para phenyl position of ligands alters the electronic properties of these complexes. These new Ir(III) complexes show emission in the green, yellow, and orange-red regions. The EHOMO and triplet energy levels of these complexes were estimated.
