Synthesis of fluorous trialkyl phosphines with the complete exclusion of PH3

A novel synthetic protocol has been developed for the synthesis of fluorous tertiary phosphines excluding the use of hazardous PH3 and with control over the number of methylene spacers and the length of fluorous ponytails.
